Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor

Salary: Grade 4 Point 9 – 12 (£14,703 - £16,234 actual salary)

Hours/Weeks Job term: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year,

permanent, term time only; starting September 2022

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Higher-Level Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor who has the skill set to work in a range of year groups to both teach classes during staff PPA, CPD etc, as well as working with individual pupils or groups when whole class cover is not required.

You should:

  • Have the HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Be able to demonstrate the confidence and ability to manage children in a positive and friendly manner
  • Have experience of working in a primary school setting, delivering whole class teaching and/or supervising whole classes
  • Have the ability to use initiative, work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour
  • Have the ability to form positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents and uphold the strong, caring ethos and inclusive environment of our friendly and popular school
  • An excellent communicator, creative and passionate about helping children be the best they can
  • Have sound Math and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent in English and Math is essential)

Whilst an HLTA qualification is desirable it is not essential, and we would welcome applications from teaching assistants that have experience of teaching whole classes.
